What is a study?

What is psychotherapy?

We are looking for study participants

Have you experienced a traumatic event and do you suffer from stressful memories, do not sleep well, and feel tense or afraid?

We offer therapy to help manage stressful memories or give advice where else help can be found. If you do not yet speak German well, we will work with an interpreter. You will receive an allowance for participation in psychological assessments.

You will receive a detailed psychological assessment from us. Persons in group 1 receive treatment immediately without waiting time. This is special about our study, because normally you have to wait longer before you can start psychotherapy. If you are in group 2, you will receive detailed advice for help through other institutions. With your participation, we also learn more about the treatment and can thus help other people with similar experiences.

WantedPeople between the age of 18 and 65 who want to learn how to cope with stressful memories

Verlauf unserer Studie

If you are interested in participating, we will start with a psychological assessment. This way we can find out whether our treatment is suitable for you.

You will then be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. If you are in group 1, you will receive treatment with us. The treatment consists of 10 appointments and each appointment lasts 100 minutes. The whole therapy will last 10 weeks. If you are assigned to group 2, we will give you information about where you can get help.

Participation in the study will take about 15 months and we will invite you to psychological assessments four times during this time to see how you are doing.
