Study goals and benefits
All projects of the research network face the challenge of achieving the lowest possible dropout rates in their planned studies. This ensures that the results are representative for the population of refugees and further allow valid conclusions to be drawn. Therefore, the PrevDrop project supports the research network in planning and implementing appropriate measures to prevent dropout. In order to improve the clinical practice, it further seems useful to better understand the reasons and predictors of dropout. This better understanding allows the implementation of measures to increase the acceptance and tolerance of diagnostic measures and intervention methods among refugees.
- Organization of a workshop on the topic: prediction and prevention of dropout in refugees (02/20/2020 to 02/22/2020 at the LMU Munich; protocols available on the OSF Plattform)
- Development of a guideline with recommendations for the prevention of dropout (Preprint DOI: 10.31234/osf.io/nukv3)
- Quantitative analysis of data on predictors of dropout across the projects of the research network
- Collection and analysis of qualitative data on individual reasons for dropout from the point of view of those affected
- Meta-analysis on prevalence, predictors and prevention of dropout in refugees
