Aims and benefits

Subproject A3 aims to (1) close the existing gap in the mental health care of adolescent refugees in Germany and (2) gain empirical knowledge about the mental health of refugees. So far, little research has been done on this study population and available findings are scarce and heterogeneous.

The feasibility and effectiveness of the adapted eight-week START program for adolescents and young adults will be examined by continuous data collection over a total period of eleven month. Finally, the extent and sustainability of psychosocial symptom improvements and the implementation of adaptive stress processing mechanisms is evaluated.
